Coast to Coast to Coast: a new Poetry journal

The journal, Coast to Coast to Coast, came out of ideas I'd been working on during the time Michael and I were writing, reading and running some workshops in galleries on Merseyside between 2014 and February this year. We were mostly creating poetry linked to art or the river, and the journal and its title have links to that work.

We wanted to create a journal which was different to other poetry journals and magazines we admire and have subscribed to, and also wanted the journal to be a small piece of art in itself.

I’m interested in how poetry can be read / heard differently depending on context, and hope that the journals and launch will provide a pleasing context for the wonderful poetry Michael and I have selected from the submissions for the first issue.

Coast to Coast to Coast will be launched at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool on Thursday August 17th where contributors to the journal, including Katharine Towers, John Foggin, Julie Hogg, and Will Daunt will read from their work.
